Congratulations to Russ for his first place finish out of 18 players this past Saturday night. Russ mounted a very nice comeback from a short stack to take not only the chip lead, but the win. Last event's winner, Ed, finished in second place, and David L finished in an impressive third. Our first place bounty on Ed went to Russ, and our table bounty on Joseph went to newcomer Johnta. High hand of the night went to Kelly with a jack high straight flush. It should be noted that the straight flush was the second of the evening, with the first being a 5 high straight flush held by Josh H. Quite the interesting evening! Game statistics and season standings are now online.
Event 4 is scheduled for July 11 at 7:30PM and will be at Ed's house. The game will be limit 7 Card Stud. Pre-registration is highly encouraged. Hope to see you all there! |

Congratulations to Greg for claiming the win this past Saturday night in Event 1, no limit hold'em tournament. Greg claimed the win in round 19. Angela was our second place finish, also netting 5 bonus points for collecting random bounty on Ed. Speaking of, Ed was our third place finish and newcomer Jay S claimed the fourth place spot, also collecting the bounty on another newcomer, David L. Yet another newcomer, Justin, claimed high hand of the evening with quad 9s. Congrats to all. Game statistics and season standings are now online.
This was our first tournament running three tables, and although it was a little warm and a little tight, I would say that our first event of the new season was quite successful. A lot of new players and new friends made it out for the first tourney. We would like to welcome you all to the league and look forward to you all coming back out for the next tourney.
Event 2 is scheduled for June 13 at 7:30PM and will be at Brad's house. The game will be Limit Omaha 8. Pre-registration is highly encouraged. Hope to see you all there! |

Congratulations to Brady, Dark City Poker League Season 5 Champion - Season 6 Starts May 30
May 6, 2009
Congratulations to Brady for claiming the title of Dark City Poker League Season 5 Champion. An edge of your seat heads-up battle ensued between Brady and Kyle in the later rounds, but Brady finally capped the tournament off in round 20. Congratulations! Second place was taken by Kyle, while third was claimed by Brad and fourth was claimed by Mike. What a great end to a great season! Also, thank you to everyone who made season 5 a success! Championship tournament results are now online.
Season 6 will be starting on May 30 with a no limit hold'em tournament for our first event. As noted before, there will be a few changes with Season 6.
- We will finally be adding a third table to our tourneys, opening up seats for 24 players. If you know someone who would like to come play with us, please ask them to fill out the league registration.
- Our points system has been adjusted. The changes to the system are quite minor and are based on our Season 5 points.
- Our blinds schedule has also changed. The no limit blinds schedule is virtually the same, with the exception of coloring up our T500 chips earlier in the tournament. Our limit tourneys, however, have been drastically overhauled. This will make for more competitive limit games.
- We will be playing a couple of new games over the course of Season 6; Pineapple and HOSE. Pineapple is essentially no limit hold'em with 3 hole cards (1 must be discarded preflop) and HOSE is HORSE without razz.
Looking forward to seeing everyone back on May 30!
